It was the summer of 1993 in Tehran, when I was 6 years old and I created Farhad, a young man made of paper wearing a suit and having a scraggly mustache. He was born when I drew it on a piece of paper and cut the borders neatly. He was the first character in a series of women, men, and kids that I designed to narrate and play different stories. It was the first step of my life as a storyteller.

Through those experiences, I learned how much the power of storytelling is and I understood the benefits of creating new tools for telling my stories. Later in my life, I studied software engineering at college to be a developer of new tools and I pursued art to learn how to convey my thoughts through stories. These two paths flourished and merged by studying Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at New York University and I have continued to build my identity as a creative technologist with a specific focus of digital storytelling.
It was at ITP that I could directly integrate and apply my technical and artistic skills. I explored the world of art and tech at the same time by working with VR, 360 videos, micro-controllers, motors, LED, circuit, UX design, videography, photography, programming and data visualization to broaden my perspective as creative technologist who is not restricted to an specific platform to have a meaningful impact on our society.
